Excluding Snob Hill residents and some grimy hipster cashiers, that's where the Real foods are.

Love their wraps, hummus and cheeze selection.

Although: Real Foods, get Real! fruits & veggies are overpriced -  the cabbage can't really cost 5$.

Okay yelp you are trying but I get so mad at people who just want to hate on everything.  I feel so violated finding my favorite spots trashed constantly just because of one mediocre experience or small thing that ticked off an already mad person.  Some yelp persons are like road rage drivers....... they just get worse and worse and nothing you can do will make them happy.  Well, I try to be fair and reading such negative stuff about my favorite places is forcing me to get involved now writing more reviews.

Okay so I asked them to print THREE PAGES on laser color copy so I could pick it up and mail it.  I got there and they made me wait an HOUR ONE WHOLE HOUR to print three pages.  It was terrible.  Even though Fed Ex took over no no no no no.

The place is pretty big, and I tried a training session.. trainers are pretty cheesy but gym is pretty nice.  I tried the spin class too (because I read the review below) and YES it is crazy.  I like it though.  NIce pool in the back..  Clean locker rooms.

Better for takeout late at night when you are hungry than dining in.  Atmosphere is fun if you have good company!  Its not like high class dining, okay?   They have some yummy crab enchiladas on fridays and a lot of drink choices if you dine in. They are open pretty late like 1am or something- we just got takeout at midnight for a late night snack!  GREAT!

The dry fried chicken made my heart leap with every bite. The green beans were better than fries. O.k  I may be exaggerating a bit, but it had been 16 hours since I had my last meal. I came here with my cuzzo and sis, kinda reluctantly since I had been craving Thai food. It way exceeded my expectations. The line outside sucked, cause I was starving, but at least it's a good sign, especially on a Monday.  However, madly chewing fruity gum, and intimidating dining patrons with our hungry stares through the glass window was fun, and made the time pass by faster. Overall, this establishment has fantastic chinese food, which tastes different than most typical chinese joints. Also, the customer service was fast, efficient, and omg....friendly. I've never been to a hole in the wall asian restaurant where the servers were nice and funny. Wtf? Very unexpected. I will be coming back for the palpitation inducing chicken wings and green beans. I love how it has a bit of that down home dirty kitchen feel.

NO NO NO! People this is good and I waited for it with a toddler!  It is great food, good potato pancakes, fresh squeezed orange juice, and yummy pok chops.  I keep reading so many negative reviews I'm getting mad at yelp now a days.  A lot of my favorite places are getting trashed on this forum.  OK so I just ate here and I love it.  Very very good.  Tables are like elbow to elbow so be prepared but it is a lovely atmoshpere and not too loud.  Really nice!

Disclaimer:  I didn't pay a lot of attention to the menu details because I arrived about 15 minutes later than the rest of the party, so I tried to quickly pick out something to order rather than read through the menu.

We came here yesterday for a business lunch.  The place is very beautiful and has a panoramic view of the lake because of the large windows.  It was not air-conditioned, but they had ceiling fans, the windows were open.  The hostess and server were very welcoming to us.  Because it was a special occasion, they even provided a little something on the house.

We were served a bread basket that included sesame bread sticks and bread (can't remember the type but it's my favorite at Il Fornaio).  We started off with fried calamari that came with a tomato based sauce that I didn't try.  It was sprinkled with a melted cheese sauce.  Several of us had the pasta, and the turkey burgers were a hit.

Our server was extremely pleasant but made several errors that we forgave... but will highlight in case it annoys other people.  One person asked for pasta without a couple of items while another ordered the same pasta the way it's normally prepared, but he gave the opposite when he brought out the food.  I ordered the grilled chicken burger, but he thought I ordered the grilled chicken entree instead.  I decided to just eat it and it was a great decision.  My chicken was well-marinated and very juicy so definitely not overcooked.  It came with several slices of potato and some spinach as the vegetable.  It definitely didn't make me feel like I overate or ate food that unhealthy for me.  The portions are not that large, but it's filling enough for that meal.  Someone who ordered a salad was hungry by about 5:00 p.m., and she normally doesn't get hungry.

I didn't really pay attention to the prices because I was rushing to order, but I remembered the sandwiches being $10 - $12, and it comes with either french fries or a side salad.  I've heard that the fries are very good, but I didn't get a chance to try any.

Before we left, the chef came out to greet us, again because it was a special occasion and joked with us.  I will definitely return and bring others.  Just beware of the various street parking signs.  We ended up getting a parking ticket because it was street cleaning from 12:30 - 2:30 on Thursdays; the hours used to be in the evenings, so this is a fairly new change.  They will start dinner service in late October 2008.

Really nice for me and my toddler to bond here.  I also like the exploratorium but since I was off work today, we stopped to check it out and it was amazing.  I highly recommend going and don't forget to check out the second floor and the telescopes.  And check the movie schedule before you go.

This is my second time writing a review and I can't complain too much.  I see a lot of happy people eating there when I go- I'm surprised about some negative reviews.  Yeah, the wait staff seems pretty young and inexperienced- I don't know WHY the server didn't know what kind of eggs she was serving us (she really bumbled was it flying fish roe or salmon roe...........)but the sushi is good enough for me to come back again.  I talked to the sushi chef working that night and he and the other guy who do sushi are actually FROM JAPAN.  Hard to find sometimes in our global world.  I would recommend giving it a try if you're in Noe Valley- sorry people sushi isn't cheap- me and my husband pay go money for good fish and you should too.

Thursday, September 4, 2008 - 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM

I look forward to this event year after year and the combined forces of the San Francisco 49ers professional football team, the 49ers Foundation and e2K Sports did not disappoint once again.  I've been attending these parties since the mid-90's.  For a $49 donation each guest receives a 2008-2009 San Francisco 49ers Gold Rush Cheerleaders calendar, the official 2008-2009 San Francisco 49ers Gold Rush Magazine, autograph and photo opportunities with the cheerleaders and members of the San Francisco 49ers alumni and endless appetizers from the host restaurant.  Best of all, 100 percent of the proceeds go to support the charities of the 49ers Foundation.

The staff of Milagros Cantina in downtown Redwood City did an amazing job of hosting this party which basically sold out their entire restaurant for one night.  All of their staff, except for the bartenders, was decked out in their 49ers t-shirts serving food, serving drinks, cleaning up and just providing a great atmosphere for a fabulous party.  Despite poor advertising for the event word of mouth obviously played a big role in bringing in the packed house.  Many of the guests are family or friends of the 49ers Gold Rush cheerleaders who regularly unveil their annual swimsuit calendar at this event.

The promise of 49ers alumni appearing for the first time was a huge hit.  I'm not sure who else was in attendance, but all eyes seemed to be focused on one of football's greatest receivers, Jerry Rice.  Jerry Rice happily posed for photos with guests and signed every autograph request turned his way.  He even stood around, had drinks and appetizers and mingled with the guests.  49ers alumni Guy McIntyre seemed to shadow Jerry throughout the night.

The chefs of Milagros served up delicious mini quesadillas with tasty carnitas or grilled vegetables.  Cooking stations were set up in the outside dining area and the delicious quesadillas were grilled to order.  Big, thick crunchy flautas were also served with fresh guac and tasty salsa.  Earlier in the evening they seemed to be serving ceviche to the guests, but I was a bit preoccupied.  I'm not sure what other foods I missed as I attempted and succeeded in meeting all 32 ladies of this year's cheerleading squad.

I'm almost anticipating the new football season to be yet another lackluster affair.  I can't wait until next year's kickoff party!

Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa!

For all the five star raves I gave Apple and its hipness ...

I take my words back.  I'm sorry to be a fashion victim believing in my Mom and sister who are swayed by Industrial Design, five stars, Channel, Blahniks and all that jazz.

I bought into all that, until 4 years later my son complained that his G3 flaked!

I figured it was an electrical or circuit issue.  I debugged his issue every weekend I went home, until one day I stumbled into this Tech Note courtesy of Google:

http://www.applefritte...

All I can say is that my ThinkPad has not EVER let me down: TODAY and YESTERDAY!  I have throttled an old Thinkpad across the Atlantic shores, then into South America, with no qualms.

Apple .. hmmmm..

ThinkPad and IBM .. what can I say, we have proved ourselves since manframe days, your point?

And yeah , geek can be sexy, but it ain't Steve Jobs or some lop-sided so-called new-wave engineer ..  nope, you don't impress me at all!

Engineers of our time are extinct.  You newbees, start  paying your dues!

I didn't drink the dental kool-aid, so no 5 stars here.

A four star diamond dentist super-glued permanently in a one star setting gets two stars from me.
IF you don't have a truly private and quiet treatment room...
IF your staff doesn't efficiently and clearly represent you...
AND IF you yourself don't hold appropriate standards for your staff's professionalism, then I don't care how shiny you are. BAD RESULT.

Yes, Polly is nice. Yes, she has more than adequate skills. BUT

1) The set-up of her office is weird. There are no full walls between you and the other dentists and their clients. I have a hard enough time tolerating the drill sounds and dental data talk going on in the room I'm in. I love ya, but I do not want to hear your dental drama.
On a semi-picky note- Have you ever thought about what the patients look at, sometimes for hours? I looked up at the ceiling (when my eyes were not closed in fear and/or discomfort) and got to see an ugly yellowish water-stain on that lovely white acoustic square ceiling. um ICK.

2) The confusing and sometimes immature communications from her staff.
Some other reviewers have addressed this:
http://www.yelp.com/us...
http://www.yelp.com/us...

I received a number of either redundant or conflicting messages from her staff. The last time I was there because the desk staff had gone home and Polly did not seem to know the fees, she was literally unable to accept my payment. I had cash, a credit card and checkbook and offered to pay twice; Polly repeated that she did not know how to do billing. I got a call the next day acting as if I had simply not paid, reciting the amount owed; I said I would mail it out that week. The following day I received another call from someone else with the same you owe x-amount message and contrite tone of voice. I waited until the weekend to send the check because I spent the week in a haze of pain, less from my fillings than from Dr. Rivas ratcheting my jaw open with a block, a plastic spacer that was clearly too big. (yeh not funny right now)

OK, so to break it down:
The younger woman receptionist is chatty and sweet, but a little too casual which can come off as rude, She also missed appointment details.
The other woman there who seems to be in charge of billing was more efficient, but I witnessed messages between her and other staff  either being lost or mis-communicated. I had three different price quotes for the same treatment; all the result of unclear inter-office communication.

The dental hygienist on my first visit seemed quite competent; she was warm and friendly, but still stayed focused on her job.

3) Third problem: The fact that apparently Polly having small talk with the staff to make them feel warm and fuzzy trumps the fact that she is not fully focusing on the DRILL IN MY MOUTH which SHE JUST TOLD ME IS VERY CLOSE TO A NERVE is NOT OK. Be nice to the staff at lunch. or in between clients. NOT while the drill is practically halfway inside my head.

In the middle of my appointment, one of the other dentists in the next room - I guess thinking he's alone?! starts yelling:
          "I WAS SO DEPRESSED!!!!!"
After a moment, he noticed I was there. To his credit, he apologized profusely for yelling. She  took the time to reassure him that
"It's okay, we're easy going people"
um *WE?* .  .  . the person who can't talk because she has a rubber block and a drill in her mouth, I'm not feeling so easygoing,. Why not accept his apology and reassure ME?

Because the work she did was so close to the nerve, I considered going back to have her finish it because only she knows exactly how she did the preliminary work.  I am in pain- not at the site of the filling in my tooth, but  because of all the heightened tension during my treatment and having a clearly too-large spacer shoved in my mouth. Sounds sexy, but IS NOT. My jaw is swollen, misaligned and does not open fully fourteen days later.  I called Polly and told her very plainly what I thought of the treatment and communication I received. She listened and had a few explanations; I hope she improves her services. She seems sincere; maybe she will. Because Polly does seem to be a genuinely good person, it [also] pains me to write this review.  I don't think she meant to hurt me, but I'm not convinced she truly set herself up to help me.

oh and   I really don't know what parallel universe these other reviews came from. I think that on YELP sometimes reviews become like a big circle jerk 5 star wave. glad someone's having fun. When I feel better I'm biting everyone of you 5star lemmings that brought me to this toothy cliff. I really hurt myself following you.

ALTHOUGH...I did lose a couple pounds since eating was next to impossible, but I don't really recommend lockjaw as a diet plan.

If you're the type of person who likes big, thick, greasy, grilled to order burgers Jeffrey's would be the perfect burger place for you.

I ordered the Mushroom Burger with American cheese and it looked really good with a mountain of thinly sliced mushrooms piled high (http://www.yelp.com/bi...), but when I went to pick it up the grease had already soaked into the bottom of the bun.  The bottom bun was actually wet and shimmered with all of that oily goodness.

Whatever seasoning that was used to cook the mushrooms was unbearably salty.  It was almost like some sort of brine was added to the mushrooms.  Although the burger itself was thick and juicy I'll have second thoughts before I return to Jeffrey's again.

Their fries were good though, and a single order is big.  The red, white and chrome soda fountain interior reminds me of Johnny Rocket's.  There is a self-serve condiment bar and you can help yourself to fresh iceberg lettuce, thick tomato slices, crunchy pickle spears, white or red onions and pickle relish.  The staff is friendly, and the service is quite good.

I finally went here a while ago after hearing about it from so many people. Everyone I knew kept saying that this was the best burritos around. Well, they are pretty good but I still think that Guadalajara has better. I definately like the inside of this place better than others though. It is very well ventilated and isn't stale. (I have found that a lot of Taquerias don't have good air circulation and it always smells funky in them.)

Josh set me at ease from the moment I entered his space. He asked all the right questions, encouraged me to discuss any issues that worried me, and answered any questions I had. He took a moment before he started working on me to clearly ask if he had permission to work on my body. I don't recall having a massage therapist ask quite that way before, and it was somehow significant for me (in a good way).

As for the work itself, I don't think I've ever had a better massage. He has both training and an intuitive sense of what's going on with the body and how to work it all out. When I'm on his table, I can just tell him what's bothering me and trust him to make it better.

There are good Costco's and there are bad Costco's. This one on Davis is one of the good ones. They have a pretty good lay out inside and they rotate the crap pretty often. I like going to this one after 6:30 on weekdays. It has cleared out a lot of the day shoppers and you can move around inside without having to say "excuse me" 200 times while you are in there.
They usually have most of the check out lanes open too. I like their gas station better than others also. The pumps seem to be faster than other Costco's. It usually isn't crowded if you leave the store @ 8:00-8:30 either.

one of the first dates I ever had up in SF...the thing is as the night progressed I became more and more uninterested her in a romantic fashion. after dinner she suggested that we go to twin peaks...I was like what is twin peaks....?

well she says there's a great view from up on high....
drove up the windy ass death defying roads....
in the fog.....
so after laughing in the face of death we finally reach the top....
and hung out....
hung out in the middle of the fog.......
just hangin out......
and hung out some more.....
in the fog.

well, i finally feigned exhaustion and drove her back home....

otherwise I've been here on less fog filled nights and have to say that the view is amazing...don't let the rockin' cars bother you...they are just fighting over who gets to look out the window

back when I used to have fun in school...

explored all my scientific endeavors at the  Exploratorium....

but also when I had to wear uniforms.....
had a horrible bowl cut....
when I couldn't drive......

Service was great and waiters/waitress very attentive.  I had the super bento box at $11.50.  Food was disappointing.  Seems like the meat, chicken katsu and beef was precooked and cooked again so it was a bit dry.  Even the sushi seem like it was sitting around for  a half day judging by its  color/dryness. Best thing about the bento box was the salad and tempura.  Only finished half of it before walking out, but as always left a 25% tip.  Hey, the wait staff was great, it ain't their fault the food was overall below average.  Don't think I'll be back anytime soon.

What a good cake.  Too good in fact.  I had a frugal slice of a gorgeous looking chocolate cake.  This thing laid me out like a man jumping on a rake.  All of the parts that made up the cake were utterly delicious.  The cream really melt in my mouth like butta'.  But there was just too much cream!  Cake to cream ratio was 3:1!  The fruit in it was a great touch, but still couldn't get over the cream.  These type of desserts make me want to log roll down to hill just so I can run back up to hill in order to burn off all these calories.  Amia's cakes can easily serve fifteen because they are so heavy.

Stoneridge is that one shopping mall you go to when you want to get slightly away from the Bay Area.  Driving over hills where radio frequencies go dead make it feel like you're going into an area where deadlines cannot reach you.

Stoneridge isn't much different from other malls: it's double-leveled, houses a cafeteria, and has your usual suspects such as Macy's, Banana Republic, etc.  The crowds can be quite hectic just as any other.  It's probably one of the worst during holiday seasons.

Why then come to Stoneridge?  I guess for the road trip.

It took me awhile to actually write this review..I almost forgot. then I remembered I have YELP to think about...Yelp is a place where ppl could vent about their experiences whether is good or bad. Its a place where for a brief moment all types of ppl get together n help each other out. (therefore I must not be selfish) I went to Brown Sugar based on the great reviews and this will be my 4th time getting an airbrush tan. 2x I went to Radical tan and one time I went to La Belle. I got in at 8:30 pm and everything is good so far..the girls were nice and the place was cute. Then this girl took me into this room that was slightly messy n dirty from the tanning solution. I thought to myself "ok this does not look good...."

Then there was a bag of small hair ties that seriously cannot hold my asian thick course hair. there was no shower cap and no lotion to cover my nails. I asked the girl about this and she says "ohhh dont worry our tanning solution is not that strong that it will grab onto ur nails."  Okay...SO the process begins and every other minute afer spraying she would blot the drips with a towel and I figured out why there are white towels all over the room stained with brown spots. the process took about 20 minutes overall and the RESULT is disappointing. just to let u know I took a shower n scrubbed all over my body before going to this place...but because of the quality of the tanning solution it grabbed every stubble of hair from my body!! ( take note that instead of grabbing onto the nails..it grabbed onto stubble of hairs) I looked at my legs n it looked like I have little orange color spots all over and whats worse is the fact that I looked like I had a mustache too! since I used creams to get rid of them the stubble looked more prominent with the orange spots (I had to put concealer on my upper lip to cover it)  n of course the next day I was on my way to LA so there was no time to go back n fix the mistakes. I have learned my lesson: which is to never go airbrush tanning the day before u leave on vacation.

Now I dont know if the other reviewers have ever tried Radical TAn or not...but let me tell u that if u want good results from airbrush tanning go to Radical Tan. They are super clean..the process takes about 5-10 minutes only.. no drips n no funky looking spots...lotion is provided there to cover ur nails n plus they provide SHOWER CAPS for the long haired girls. for the same price $50 u can get much of a better service and much better results. My search for a substitute airbrush tanning place (just in case radical tan disappear or something) still continues...never say I didnt warn u if u did decide to go to this place...
